Ten years ago, I was in a nightclub.

Not for the reason most people end up there, but for one powerful reason: someone needed hope and love, and God said go.

We were there as an outreach to young women who had been exploited, trafficked, and told their lives didn’t matter. And in the middle of that night, I felt a clear prompting from the Holy Spirit to pray with one specific young woman.

Her name was Ashley.

I didn’t know her story. I didn’t know what was ahead of her. I just knew I was supposed to go to her, so I did.

In fact, the Lord said to me, “When she encounters you, she’ll have an encounter with Me.”

This past March, a woman walked up to me at ICING Women’s Conference with a smile I will never forget.

It was Ashley!

Ten years had passed. She wasn’t the same person. Everything about her was different… her countenance, her confidence, the peace in her eyes. Something profound had happened between then and now.

And then she introduced me to her beautiful daughter.

Through tears, she told me about the journey since that night in the club. How that one encounter (and one prayer) had planted a seed that God continued to grow. She found her worth in Jesus, rebuilt her life, stepped into her purpose.

One moment of obedience and one life completely transformed.

I want you to understand something about that moment, because it involves you more than you might realize.
